DCF: Terri Schiavo Not Abused, Exploited
State Agency: Terri Schiavo Was Not Abused or Exploited by Either Side of Her Family
By VICKIE CHACHERE
The Associated Press
Apr. 16, 2005 - State investigators found no evidence that Terri Schiavo had been abused or exploited by either side of her family, according to documents released by Florida's Department of Children and Families.
The agency investigated 89 complaints dating back to 2001, when Schiavo's feeding tube was removed for the first time and the legal battle surrounding her right-to-die case intensified.
The calls alleged that the brain-damaged woman was being mistreated by her husband and her parents for financial gain. One complaint alleged that Schiavo's parents were selling videos of her through a Web site; another said Schiavo's husband wasn't spending money intended for her rehabilitation.
But investigators said they found no evidence that either her husband or parents were exploiting her, and often noted in their records that they found Schiavo well cared for on their visits to her Pinellas Park hospice.
The agency released the records Friday under court order.
Schiavo, 41, died last month after her feeding tube was removed for the third time, ending a bitter court battle between her husband, Michael Schiavo, and parents, Robert and Mary Schindler, over whether she would have wanted to live in a vegetative state.
The repeated allegations of abuse were based partly on bone scans showing Terri Schiavo suffered fractures and statements she made to family and friends that she was unhappy in her marriage.
Schiavo's husband has denied harming his wife. His lawyer said the fractures resulted from osteoporosis caused by the woman's years of immobility and complications of her medication.
Robert Schindler declined to comment there on the release of the DCF documents. An attorney for Michael Schiavo did not immediately return calls.

There is one thing I must point out for the record.
Terri never lost her dignity, nothing any of the protesters for her or her family did took any dignity away from Terri.
I heard one poster earlier complain that the protesters and the Shindlers had taken away Terri's dignity and that's just not so.
Even Michael, as scummy as he, his lawyer and the people on the side of murdering Terri are, didn't take away Terri's inherent dignity.

I responded to your post 875 which is before seeing the moderators note at 878.
Besides, I haven't attacked you. You appeared out of nowhere last night to launch an attack on me for daring to post my observation that the protest outside the hospice blossomed into a mini-circus. A spectacle that was plainly true yet was being denied.
As long as you keep after me I'll point out the truth for every lie you state.

And just what is my version?

Maybe so, but you have to look at WHY they got involved. Because the constitutional rights of an American citizen were being denied her.
And, the state was executing her without giving her due process to a review like they do for death row prisoners. Shouldn't a disabled person sentenced to die by the state have the right to a look at the facts by new eyes? If not, with out judicial system currently, it is really easy to find activist judges who will rule however the "ELITE" want them to rule.
Now, remember, Terri was not dying before they instigated death for her. This is far different from those who are in the dying process where a tube might be removed to not prolong the dying process.

So, you are not of the whack element, if you support a man who wants his wife dead and remembers that at 26 she once said that (after 7 years of no mention of the fact)?
You are not of the whack element, if you totally disregard the wishes of a mother to care for a child that is sentenced to death by a man who wants her dead.
You are not of the whack element, if you blindly condone the state instigating the death of an American citizen.
You are not of the whack element, if you refuse to see what is behind the massive need to have Terri die. You blindly accept that a federal subpoena would be ignored, a federal law ignored that asked only for a review with new eyes of all facts before death instigated, and a state governor and president of the U.S. told to "bug off" by a mere county judge for merely one man wanting to pull the plug on a disabled wife.
You are not of the whack element, if you care not that an end-of-life panel has taken on law making (not by legislators but by self decision without oversight) and that this law making is taking progressive steps to change the law allowing more and more leeway in determining who gets to live.
Yep, guess I choose to be the whack element. Seems like something is grossly missing in the non-whack element if they choose to allow the state to kill unwanteds, if they tell a mother no you cannot care for a child because we want to kill her.
Just does not seem right to me. Of course, I'm just a radical right wing idiot.

Oh, so sorry.
Keep on ignoring what the death of Terri by the state means for the future America.
How do you think the euthanasists are feeling right now? I see high fives everywhere.
Or, are you one of them too?

You are in the majority. Great write-up, also.
Basically,
you aren't radical - or a wing of anything (others are on the fringe) nor an idiot (idiots don't think rational but they are critical) - BUT YOU ARE RIGHT!

The Deadly Fruit of Complacency
Complacency
The self-satisfied's disease
While 'good men' stand aside
Great evil comes to be
"I hadn't the power to act", they say
"I really would if I could, today!"
But is it really helplessness?
Or love for status and comfort
Keeping them meekly at bay?
Inaction strengthens tyrants
And their iron bars
It's a very short trip
It's not at all far
From euthanasia
To ovens and cattle cars

What happened? Why did you attack me after I posted something so in agreement with you? Congressman Neugebauer is my representative, and I had called his office to oppose the removal of Terri's feeding tube. He wrote me that letter I posted, in response. In your answer, you agreed with his letter. I merely mentioned to you that both you and the good Congressman would be considered a "radical whacko pro-life embarrassment" by the other side. You are in good company, Clancy, because as you said, Randy Neugebauer is a good man. BTW, you have FReepmail...

Hello, cyncooper!
I've just gotten around to checking this thread, and I saw that you posted a response to my response. It read, "Backtalk2000, April 3, 2005". Okay, so I guess I'm what you would call a "newbie". I happened across this site back in March, following a link on another web-site about Terri Shiavo. I joined FR a few days after Terri's death, as I felt the need to express my grief and to share my views/opinions with the other posters on this site. I didn't realize that my posts would not be considered valid because I only recently joined. Please tell me, how long should I and other "newbies" wait before posting to the FR board? Six months? A year? Two?
I can't imagine that the founder/creator of this website would appreciate the fact that you have been discouraging newcomers from participating.

Regarding your post #832...Andys activities scare me too...he knows that, so most of the time, he does not tell me anything scarey before he does it, he just tells me after hes done it and hes safe...he took a year long trip around the world a few years ago....I sure did worry the whole time he was gone...but he emailed me as often as he could find net cafes, and posted his travel journals on his website, so I could keep up with him as he traveled...still, he always does involve himself in risky and scarey activities, and I worried the whole time he was gone...
Tho, last weekend, he did play it safe...indulged himself in your type of activities...went down to the coast with his friends, and they walked on the beach, went clamming, cooked up those clams, and sat in the motel pool...thats more my speed, as well...
