Is it true? You react differently to their stings? I'll have to think about that one, especially since I only recall having yellowjackets sting me. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, you've given me something to delve into.

Yuppers.
Yellowjackets and hornets I react to.
I feel cold and hot at the same time, raised itchy bumps (hives) and mild breathing difficulty.
Bee stings and wasp stings only produce localised discomfort and the usual five day oozing and healing process.

But the venom is very similar between the four, so I don't understand why I react differently to them.

As far as plants go, calalillies, lilacs, lillies, amaryllis, hyacinths, easter lillies, and tulips make me sneeze.
Roses do not.
Weird.
