Police Search For Identity Of Notorious Bank Robber
(snip)
Invesitagors believe that the so called Fed-Ex Bandit, named for the type of mailing envelopes in which the robber stashed some of the stolen money, is responsible for at least 26 robberies in San Diego and Los Angeles counties, according to the FBI.
In addition to showing tellers a pistol tucked in his waistband, the thief at times has claimed to be carrying a bomb.
Witness have described the assailant as a man of Middle Eastern descent, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, 150 pounds, and in his 30s, with black hair, green eyes and a goatee, FBI special agent Jan Caldwell said.
