I have Norton 2005, I'm not sure if it is to blame for my recent 'puter problems. They have been too numerous to name. I have been on the phone almost every night with a tech guy for, going on a week, now. He tells me to do different types of interventions to make it run right but none of them have worked. I tell him what the 'puter did, instead of what it was supposed to do, and he says "hmmmmmmm". He ended up saying "hmmmmm" a lot.

Luckily for me, he's very patient (I know zilch about 'puters) and talked me through all kinds of techie-type things but none of them helped. Now I'm waiting for disks to fix it, to arrive-he said this will solve the problems.

I fully expect bats to fly out of the screen, or that the monitor will start spinning around by itself and displaying images of pea soup. I'm thinking maybe I need to call a priest to perform an exorcism.

I just got Norton, but any advice on better security would be most appreciated. I have been using Fire Fox for a web browser - it is great. (read about here of FR).

You're a very optimistic person, aren't you?
Regarding advice on better security, see backhoe's post #185. You're on the right track already with Firefox.
