Dump your Norton. I had the same problem. A friend that works on computers says he sees this all the time. As soon as I unloaded it - including clearing the registry - my computer went back to working.

I will do that tonight. I kant's take no more...

I would like to thank each and every one of you, even you lurkers, for all you help. You don't know how much I appreciate all your advice and tips. I will leave now and put on my surgical gloves and have at it. Hopefully, I'll be back. Once again, thank you all. Good night.

At Steve Gibson's site there is link for unbinding your network - it is linked way more places than you need it to be.

If you don't understand that, no problem. Neither did I. I just followed his steps and it makes your computer a whole lot more secure.

That's what your computer looks like now.

Here is what you need. Closes the door on many compromises.

Gibson moved his pages around a bit so I am not exactly sure where it is from his site at grc.com. But we have a direct link to it at GoGov.com
