I have a British made, Lee-Enfield .303 if that is any consolation.

Not to cause further confusion, but there was a well known British bike named Enfield.

Royal Enfields are still made in India too. They still have the Royal Enfield Bullet model (to add to the confusion). Same exact design and tooling as I understand it.

I didn't know that. I love my rifle. I'm not crazy about it's open sight. But it shoots a target dead on. It's stamped 1943. I took it to the firing range on a military base Sunday. They asked what rifles we had and when we got to the Enfield, the MP's asked if they could see it. They like it.
