Chris Dodd versus John Bolton

WASHINGTON -- Why did Monday's Democratic assault on John Bolton at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee have so little to do with how he would perform as U.S. ambassador at the United Nations and so much about Cuban biological warfare? It may be partially explained by tactical considerations. But the more significant reason is Sen. Christopher Dodd's long-range goal of normalized relations with Fidel Castro.
Coordinated Democratic grilling of Under Secretary of State Bolton avoided stigmatizing him as a conservative critic of the widely unpopular UN. Leading the attack on Bolton, Dodd even said he agreed with much of Bolton's criticism of the world organization. Only Sen. Barbara Boxer could not restrain herself from declaring how "outrageous" it was to put a conservative U.S. representative at the UN.
The other Democrats followed Dodd's lead in dwelling on a 2002 speech by Bolton alleging Cuba's development of germ warfare for export to rogue nations. The link to the UN was that another exaggerated weapons-of-mass-destruction claim would further undermine U.S. credibility there.

In his testimony Tuesday, Ford was hardly questioned about Bolton's actual assessment of Castro's germ warfare capability. Chris Dodd was able to drive Otto Reich out of the government because he was anti-Castro. It remains to be seen whether that also is John Bolton's fate Interesting information

I wonder when senator Dodd is going to quit lying.
I remember him making a big joke about how nice it will be when he gets to quit lying. It was in 1994, just before the elections, if I recall correctly.
There's something very scary about those congress people from the New England states.

I am not aware of any before this.
And did you see the little piece Britt Hume had on details behind the flap and why Bolton was angry....I can't find anything on the Foxnews Web Site....I am convinced that the ?DemonicRats have paid off someone to get the testimony against Bolton....the NIR analyst lied....regarding some of the details of his E-Mail .
He was countering what Bolton wanted to say and asking for support from others in the Intel community it appears to me.

So-called disarmament organizations, such as Citizens for Global Solutions [formerly World Federalist Society] and George Soros Open Society Policy Center, put the Committee on the receiving end of a well-coordinated lobbying effort as it prepares to vote on Boltons nomination From your link

I just heard on Brit Hume's show that the testimony of the other people involved in the Westerman kerfuffle BACKED UP Bolton's statements and some ever went so far to say that Westeman messed up!!!
BUT, even knowing that, the dems are still delaying the vote in order to srape up more dirt on Bolton--that is basically what James Rosen said on FoX!!!
