Eric Berndt, a law student, shocked the crowd by asking, "Do you sodomize your wife?"
Scalia refused to answer the question while the crowd gasped and the administrators promptly turned off Berndt's microphone.
I would have asked Eric Berndt if he'd like to be sodomized with a microphone stand, lucky I wasn't there I guess.

"Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who was being honored by a student-run law journal."
Reminder to self to SUPPORT this kind of journal!

Liberals do not know the meaning of private, the also do not know that states have certain powers. They also don't give a crap.

So the two Gay-Lesbian protestors they quote are named Leatherman and Hancock. Do they take tribal names or something upon joining that movement?

"While on the court he voted for the right to desecrate the American flag, and against the right to abortion and the right to engage in homosexual sex." There are no "rights" to abortion, homsexual behavior, or to burning the flag. The liberals are mired in licentiousness, rebellion and evil. The country will not hold together if this state of affairs continues.

If I were Eric Berndt's mother, I would be so ashamed of him. If I were his father, I'd cut off the money supply. And I'd change the locks on the door.

"The constitution is not a living organism," Scalia said, espousing his belief that the Constitution's interpretation should not change over time. "It's a legal document." YES!YES!YES! Justice Scalia, you are one wonderful person. What a brilliant mind. The law is not rocket science. It is fundamental. It is our rock. If you cannot rely on the law to mean what it says, then we are lost. We are left to the whims of the times.
We need 8 more Scalias on the court.

More: The law, Roper, the law. I know what's legal, not what's right. And I'll stick to what's legal.
Roper: Then you set man's law above God's!
More: No, far below; but let me draw your attention to a fact - I'm not God. The currents and eddies of right and wrong, which you find such plain sailing, I can't navigate. I'm no voyager. But in the thickets of the law, oh, there I'm a forester.
Roper: ...You'd give the Devil the benefit of law?
More: Yes. What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?
Roper: I'd cut down every law in England to do that!
More: Oh? And when the last law was down, and Devil turned round on you - where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? The country's planted thick with laws from coast to coast - man's laws, not God's - and if you cut them down - and your're just the man to do it - d'you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I'd give the devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake.

hey StormEye - Thanks!
my wife read your comment that says there is no right to homosexual behavior (which struck up a conversation between me and my wife)... and now she just told me that there is no "right" to heterosexual behavior either - and then went to the bedroom and locked the door!

Well, you're pretty zippy yourself, KP. Every so often you get one of those Ben Dover name situations. I truly and honestly did know a man in New Mexico named Dick Hertz. He was a highly intelligent laser scientist and appeared oblivious about the -- er -- mellifluousness, shall we say, of his name. I didn't know him well enough to ask how he dealt with it.

"Gifted people can either use their talents to help other people or hurt other people," said Bert Leatherman, a law student and the protest's organizer. "We all agree that Scalia has used his gifts to hurt people."
This is truly sick that ignorant college students would presume that they have knowledge that trumps the wisdom of a Supreme Court Justice.

Poor kid never had a chance. I never knew anyone named Rob Banks or Doug Graves, but I like to think there are a few out there.

I would have grinned roguishly and said, "You'll never know, young man. You'll never know."
