And one female airline pilot a year or two ago won against the IRS on just such an issue. She said she would be happy to pay once someone from the IRS showed her where in the tax code it said she had to. They refused and took her to court. She won.

Doubtful.

I have an a aquainence that is part of the Larkin Rose group. Hasn't filled out a return in over 12 years and makes really good six figure income. For them the key to protecting yourself is not entering into a contractual agreement with the irs - IOW do not sign a tax return.

The reason she's getting away with it is because she isn't filing a return. You can coast that way for a while, but sooner or later, there's good chance she'll get caught. Hope she likes federal prison and having all her wordly possessions seized.

Not filing a return is the key to the whole thing. A return is a legally binding document. Once you file a return showing you owe no tax, they can come for you legally, which is the mistake the man in the story made. If you don't file, because you honestly believe you shouldn't (and the fact that the rest of the lemmings do it is not a reason to do it) they have to prove you should. This woman won and only had to give up her stuff.

You can file bankruptcy against taxes that are owed from more than three years ago, once you file and 280 days have passed. Buy gold and put it in the ground. Or just move to mexico.
