In there hearts they believe that central control, like communism or socialism is good, because it could care better for people than 'greedy' capitalism. But they fail to acknowledge that human central control, once it becomes corrupted, is far harder to oust and are far more devastating (like Stalins purges etc.). Thus, they deny their own ability to become corrupted. Currently the lefts delusions have gotten them in the position where they are trying to deny that 9/11 ever happened and/or that it was our fault. Thus they have backed themselves into a corner and are flailing wildly (hence John Kerry's flip flops on the war, right at first, then wrong war, wrong time, wrong place)..
The trouble with the left's position with America, is that America didn't buy it despite George Soros's millions, Michael Moore's propaganda movie and a complicit press. America doesn't trust the left to be in power right now, because they still talk like leftists after we've been attacked. Their hearts still care more about health care than terrorists with WMDs.
The latest attacks on the Pope, after he went to be with the Lord, have proven this all the more. The problem is more with their hearts than their minds and will be so as long as they are tied to Bill Clinton. For as long as they justify his immorality they will be tied to it themselves. Being stuck like to a tar baby, there flailing around will make them stick to it even more; killing more Terri's in the process.
But the real problem is that their belief system is, in effect, the established religion on all but a handful of our campuses, even the state run ones. Why do we continue to tolerate this and why do we not insist that America's founding principles be given at least an equal voice there?
Their entire justification for their philososphy, most humans cannot be trusted as individuals and therefore must be ruled by 'collectives' or 'central control', has the inherent flaw you pointed out. If humans cannot be trusted as individuals, they certainly cannot be entrusted with complete control of a large central government.
The truth of course is that many humans can be trusted and we only need some controlling legal authority for the few who cannot. The leftist position however must always deny the inherent flaw that is possesses. For if they admit that they have been wrong, then they prove that THEY cannot be entrusted with the power of central government control. This is mainly why I have given up debating the left. They never quickly admit they were wrong and if they ever do agree with the correct position, it takes them years of denial to eventually get there.
Well life is short, and as Reagan said, its time to 'transcend' them.
The current leftist position also has another inherent flaw. They feel the need to accuse the right or 'far right' of doing the 'evil deeds' that they actually are doing. Thus the decades long harping of radical 'right' cabals working out of control within the CIA was actually done to cover up the radical "left' cabals that were secretly operating within the CIA. These were the ones that may have assisted in the Oklahoma City Bombing. Also note how leftist have been harping about members within our government that 'knew' 911 was going to occur. Might guess is that if there were people within our govenrment who knew 911 was going to occur, they were probably contributing members of the Unholy Alliance. Marxist Cabals operating within our own government.
