national day of silence? coast to coast support within the schools? who paid for that coordination? why are the schools supporting a sexuality based agenda with a nationwide campaign?

I don't remember the last time schools had a similar thing for support of reading.

i find it pretty hard to believe there could be nationwide support for this. then again, i'm no longer in the public school system.

It's led by a gay rights group.

It's called Right to Read week. It was always my favorite week in school. We'd spend forty minutes reading to ourselves...had to bring in a book or we'd have to read one from the class library.

Believe it. There are several participating schools in my area -- Kansas City, KS.

It usually starts with a pro-gay club like the gay-straight alliance. These clubs are associated with GLSEN, a national pro-gay organization aimed at promoting homosexuality in the schhols. If a school refuses to allow the club in their school, then they get sued. So they usually do it. Then you get the other stuff: day of silence, anti-bulling programs (front programs to promote homosexuality), posters and assemblies and on and on.

The answer is that the school boards are not in control, the NEA is and they just love to control the minds of children. It serves their purpose. Amen.
