I'm certain that the anti-cop crowd can explain some grand conspiracy that makes this the Cops' fault.

Now that's one less scumbag to deal with.
I wish the others would self terminate like that.

No conspiracy here, just a self correcting problem.

I'm certain that the anti-cop crowd can explain some grand conspiracy that makes this the Cops' fault. The cop actually shot the guy and planted the stolen gun. /sarcasm

This type of situation can become very dangerous for police and also put them in a bad light with the media. Sometimes people who are intent on suicide will set up the situation so that the police have to kill them in self defense. I pray for the safety of our law enforcement. It's a very tough job and often they get no respect from the citizens.

Pleasanton officers also learned the Hayward Police Department had notified law enforcement agencies on March 17 that Bell had allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend, their children, police and himself.

Should've confronted him on March 17th then.

What!! The guy pulls a gun and the cops attempt to use a taser? That's stupid! I figure you only use a taser in the same kind of situation that would call for using the baton. Using the taser is better than having to wait all night for the idiot at the hospital ER getting treated for being "thumped". What was that line from the Choir Boys? "...they use their fists, you use your baton; they use a knife, you use your gun". Kovinski's law or some such thing.

The bad guy pulls a gun...The kop pulls a taser...Something wrong with that picture???
Seems as if the dead perpetrator was as bad as you all suggest, he would have shot the cops first, and then himself...He clearly had the capability...
But NOOOoooo...He's been accused so he is guilty and deserves to be dead...
