I'm sure the NYTimes would have written similar things about the original Minutemen if it had been around in 1775.

It the NYT had written such disparaging remarks about Mssrs. Crockett, Bowie and Travis, there would have been a settlement of affairs requiring new staffing at the NYT.

Exactly & worth repeating. In fact, they'd have spent volumes of ink arguing against the Federalist Papers. Can you imagine them supporting the 2nd Amendment as it is written?
