WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The day after the Red Lake shootings, the latest of three mass killings in Minnesota and Wisconsin in recent months, a group of House Democrats fired off a letter to Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., demanding a fresh look at new gun legislation.
But gun control was not on the agenda when Congress returned last week from spring break. Top Republicans are loath to do anything that could restrict gun rights, and Democratic leaders -- still smarting from recent election reverses -- aren't eager to advertise themselves as the antigun party either.
Unlike the 1999 Columbine High School shootings, which prompted a spate of gun-control proposals, the Red Lake High shootings have caused little more than a muted gun debate.

IIRC, This tragedy couldve been possibly stopped had the security officer actually been armed...not to mention one lone citizen.

Hardly surprising.
Exactly what language would prevent everyone from
ignoring an obviously troubled youth until he steals
a gun from cop and then shoots a bunch of people who
he knows are legally disarmed, including the sham
security guard.
This event wreaks of unintended consequences of the
existing laws. More laws ensure more of the same.
The Globalsist & 10 Nation-State Confederates/Marxists/Socialists/Islamofacists/Rapists/HomeInvaders/
DrugDealers/GangBangers....etc
All love gun control laws...because gun control laws ONLY disarm honest citizens...
Criminals dont obey laws...
Is this also an unintended consequence of political correctness in our schools? Was it established that the shooter did in fact maintain the Nazi website?
Well, if a troubled student is forced to read "white bad, nonwhite good" every day, of course he is going to learn to resent the white culture.

Easily. A rational mind will be driven insane by the
insanity of government schools.
If we phase out government schools, 99.9917% of these
shootings simply never happen.
Nice sign. I expect it will be full of bullet holes in a few weeks.
I was thinking arrows...
"I was thinking arrows"
I don't know, I lived on a reservation for 10 years, bow hunting is not big there.
The bullet holes won't matter when a drunk driver plows thru in on their way home....
spears then??

There was nothing that would have stopped this kid. He had so many demons in his head that he would have figured out a way to kill them even if he didn't have a gun.
More unintended consequences may bring some good out of this tragic situation. The Navajo tribe is having meetings to see what they can do with their youth to prevent something like this from happening on their reservation. There are a lot of gangs and a lot of violent crimes around the reservation and adjoining cities. These Indian kids are very angry, and a lot of them in the gangs literally hate the "white man."
Yes, there is increasing resentment of whites on the reservations.
It sounds a bit like resentment of whites in the black neighborhoods.
It doesn't help the Indian situation that the Bureau of Indian Affairs stole $3 billion of their money and now claims it can not be found!

The resentment started when Russell Means and that bunch from AIM came down here and started stirring them up. Then they started blaming the white man for stealing their land, and it's progressed into hatred from then on.
I'm not surprised the BIA lost their money. They should look in Clinton's pocket. They might find it there. LOL
No gun laws would have made any difference in the Red Lake shooting. Look for teenagers who wear horns and trenchcoats daily and openly advertise violence. There you go.
