So true. Relationships require compromise. The unwilling stay lonely, or move from on to the next, never admitting their own character defects to the other, even when to do so would benefit the relationship. Pride goes before the fall.

The worst part of it is that he doesn't seem to realize that it's his own behavior that causing his problems. According to him, it's always someone else's fault. I have a friend who's the same way. His ego will not permit him to admit it. OTOH, he's the kind of guy who'll be watching your back when the excrement hits the ventilation, which is why I put up with his other behavior
You can't control what the other person does. The only person you can control is yourself
