So true. Relationships require compromise. The unwilling stay lonely, or move from on to the next, never admitting their own character defects to the other, even when to do so would benefit the relationship. Pride goes before the fall.

I have a friend who's the same way. His ego will not permit him to admit it. OTOH, he's the kind of guy who'll be watching your back when the excrement hits the ventilation, which is why I put up with his other behavior
