That is, a man is 'good looking enough' for even the most gorgeous women so long as he is not physically repulsive.

Yes, you said it better than I. Dressing well, staying in vaguely decent shape, and being well-groomed is about all that is required of a guy. In this regard, men have it far easier than women on average because these are things guys can change with a modicum of effort. Women are often judged by intrinsic characteristics that are a basic part of who they are.

Of course, the problem is that most guys 1) don't realize that these things are important, and 2) have no idea what constitutes "correcting" them. I would actually say that while a man should not listen to women on how to behave (they often give poor advice), women often give good advice on how to dress well and on how to clean yourself up to be appealing. They actually know something about this. Honestly, I learned a lot about how best to dress myself from former girlfriends, and I was more than happy to listen as it always seemed like reasonable advice that never steered me wrong.

cheers!

Men do have it much easier than women in that regard, you are very right. Even just a little attention to appearance goes a very long way for a man.

You are once again correct in that women do give great advice on clothing. That being said, I do advise guys to take off roughly 10% of the advice women give in that sphere - sometimes when calling the shots they tend to make a man too 'dressy,' like they are living out their longtime fantasy of being a dresser for mannequins at Saks 5th Ave!

My role model for dress (and manliness in general) is Steve McQueen's Thomas Crown (though updating the fashion style to 2005). Well dressed but slightly rough around the edges. Masculine, but certainly not pretty. Well groomed and with a great presence, but avoid the 'not a hair out of place' prissiness that just isn't very manly.

Every man has to find his own way - for rare formal events, for example, I usually stand out since my tuxedo is a slightly more stylish cut with a shawl collar, rather than the cookie-cutter angular-lapel look that every guy's rented tux looks like. I look better in it and it fits my personality. Most guys tend to appear that they can't wait to get out of their rented tux! ;-)

Seriously, I'd say that Freeper men need a lot of help in this area, except that my experience is that most men in the modern era need advice on matters of romance. The feminization of the West has created a legion of frustrated and confused men, and very unfulfilled women.
