Well, maybe Iran was a victim of Communist propaganda from Soviet Union for the Anti-US movement.
The revolution of 1979 didn't have support among major groups of Iranian society.
It is very wrong if we think that it was supported by majority of Iranians.
I know Persian people who cried when the Shah left Iran in January 1979 and hated the Khomeini for years in their hearts.
