The money came from campaign donations, not tax money.

And that's supposed to be better? What exactly is the difference between $500,000 in direct campaign contributions funnelled into the bank accounts of your family members and a bribe?

Yes, to me there is a big difference. If I don't want my contribution going to a candidate's family member, I don't contribute. It is not illegal and is common. If they want to get him on ethics charges for this, they should all be treated the same. That's my opinion; don't single out one guy because he cost you some seats in Texas--which has not been overturned by many appeals.
