She's Still 'Hanoi Jane'

The most famous – make that infamous – image of Jane Fonda from her years protesting the Vietnam War was a photograph taken during her wartime visit to North Vietnam in 1972. In the photo, Fonda is sitting on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun clasping her hands, singing, a rapturous smile on her face, a North Vietnamese helmet on her head, surrounded by grinning North Vietnamese soldiers.

Fonda, out promoting her autobiography these days, now says she regrets that particular "betrayal," and that is her word. In an interview with Leslie Stahl on CBS's "60 Minutes," Fonda said: "I will go to my grave regretting that ... It was the largest lapse of judgment that I can even imagine

Why apologize now (not last year or 5 years ago)? And why via a book plug on TV?
If her "apology" was sincere and authentic, she should have given it some other time via a simple statement at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and a pledge to donate all of her wealth to the Memorial Fund.

Let me know by FReepmail if you find out the date.

I'll try to join you.
Let's see if anyone has a Texas ping list - I'll post to the Texas board as well.

One of America's most famous TRAITORS.

Tom Hayden and Jane Fonda being interviewed
after their return from North Vietnam.
Jane Fonda tells the world press that
the American Prisoners of War were
being well treated and not tortured.

The whole article:
"Hanoi Jane"

I don't know if I agree with you. If you read the whole last few paragraphs, it is clear to me that the snopes people are not at all liberal, and they claim that the Col. mentioned in the second line has repeatedly refuted the charge.

"How about organizing some protests at her book signings."

From a FReepmail:

"Heads up she will be in Arlington Va this friday, April 15. We have contacts in the area don't we?    http://www.olssons.com/cgi-cart/events.pl#5846 "

If anyone knows places, dates and times, post them here.

It is not just the damage they did to the troops during the war. They caused damage after the war too.

I returned from Vietnam from my third tour in 1970. I stayed at my in-laws house with my wife while on leave. People would come over to visit and I heared remarks like:
"Gee, you look pretty healthy, you don´t look like you took drugs."

"How many babies did you kill in Nam?"

Or they would tell my wife to be real careful because those Vietnam Vets are all crazy and he might kill you.

They drove a deep wedge between me and my ex wife.

Why did these people ask my wife these things because pukes like Fonda and Kerry and brainless anti-war protesters filled their heads full of bullshit.

American soldiers DID kill babies (Sand Creek Masacre, Wounded Knee etc) and they did kill buffalo (1830s to the 1890s) Kerry just got the dates wrong.

Have you read Robin Moore's book "Hunt for Bin Laden"? That was an eyeopener for me on Mike Spann, he didn't die right away. Interrogated and tortured first according to Moore.

I don't recall those details in the press.

I still think there's a huge market for urinal targets with Hanoi Jane's picture.

Wasn't Soldier of Fortune selling those back in the 80s? I knew I should have bought some.....now, I want those, AND "Allah Brand Urinal Cakes" .....

To prove treason, you need 2 witnesses>

In Hanoi Jane's case, we have the POWs on site at the time. We also have photo documentary and recorded statements. In Hanoi John Kerry's case, we have the same stuff. Vets have seen it, most of America has seen it. We bear witness.

Hanoi Jane and John wormed their respective ways through the years denying treachery while sticking to their core positions, denigrating those who served and treading on the graves of our fallen.

Fine! Let them also hang together in the court of public opinion.

Three bells on the Forenoon watch.

"...I just don't understand their reasoning in saying "drop it", "your wasting your time", "give it up" etc...."

I hope your not insinuating me into this MoveOn Freeper crowd.

Though please name a SINGLE Senator that supports any move to ditch the communist Kerry from their foul midst.
