Mom---I, too, am looking forward to your report...and will add Joel to my prayers...

El Gato...my computer did not show the pics...just little red "x" in the corner...but, never fear, your "surrogate granddaughter" will get the same prayers....I just don't understand, because I do so LOVE my granddaughters with all my being, a grandparent turning their back on one of their own..(actually two of their own, counting their own daughter)...

You are a special man, EG...and I have known it for a long time...but, you continue to confirm it, with the warm and huge heart that you have!

Give Miss Victoria a hug for me...and I will add to my prayer list!!

Right click on the red x, select "properties". Then copy the URL from the picture, by holding down the left mouse button and highlighting the URL, and then left clicking and selecting copy. Then post the URL into your browser's address window.

Heck, I'll just post the URLs here.

The first, of the little girl in the hospital, is:

Keira

As you can see by the link her name is Keira. The second:

Miss V

In both cases you get the big version of the photo, not the small one I was trying to post.

I just don't understand, because I do so LOVE my granddaughters with all my being, a grandparent turning their back on one of their own..(actually two of their own, counting their own daughter)...

Yeh, Keira's grandmother was always kind of weird. Keira's mother was the youngest of her children, and the oldest was close to my and my wife's age. The oldest's husband had flow n "dustoff" choppers in Vietnam, and at the time was still in the Army. Keira's grandmother had several husbands over the years, and had at least one more after we lost track of her for a while. She was never married to at least one of the fathers of her children. Still she didn't seem that weird, she was short and vivacious, but with a temper. They were our neighbors, across the alley and two houses up, when we lived in Plano Texas.

We just got into town. Eaker is exhausted (as am I) and feeling ill. We flew into & out of LAX on a Buddy Pass, which meant our passenger status was Stand By. Getting to LAX was no problem, we got right on the plane. Getting home was a horror story! We spent 13 hours in LAX waiting to get on a plane ~ ~ the airport was freezing cold, about 40 degrees. We discussed purchasing sweat shirts, but decided we would wait to see if we got on a flight. The last flight last night left at 1:10 a.m., so off we go to purchase sweat shirts and there are no shops open anywhere!!

Back to the reason for the post - - -

Because of conversations with Faith on Friday, we were expecting to only be able to spend about an hour with TC. What a wonderful treat it was to have him alert for so long. He was a bit groggy during our visit, but not for long periods. Joel and Faith said that was the most alert and responsive TC had been in about a week.

We arrived Sunday morning (with donuts in hand). TC was more alert then the previous day. We spent 6.5 hours there and TC was damn near his ole self the entire time. We had such a wonderful visit. It broke our hearts to have to leave, especially hearing TC say, "You know what I hate about ya'll being here? . . . Is you have to leave.". At that point Eaker & I thought about moving to CA, for about two minutes.

I cannot give enough praise to Faith & Joel. They are amazing people that are under a lot of stress, perform exhausting physical work and provide constant attention to TC but we never once heard them complain ~ ~ as they said, while shrugging their shoulders, it's no thang.

Despite our horror trying to leave, it was a fabulous trip. It was worth the horror to be able to spend so much quality time with TC. Getting to meet Faith and Joel was an extra special bonus. We completely understand why TC loves Faith so much - she rocks!

For those that have TC ping list, can you send out this update. Thanks!
