My Catholic Bible says "Cushite" (with a "c" instead of the alternate "k" you cited earlier, both meaning the same, as happens with these terms).
Cushite/Kushite are indeed alternate spellings for the land called 'Cush' or 'Kush.' That place is Ethiopia. In hebrew even today I think, the word is used to describe both 'Ethiopian' and 'racially black.'
