That's got to be a joke... who doesn't have nails in their basement?

Um, that was some serious sarcasm, and a jab at the Feebs as well, I expect. At least, that's how I took it, and I watched those events with keen interest, seeing as how I had been and continued. attending Olympic events in '96.

Good for the feds in getting a plea in this case.

Rudolph is somewhat of a folk hero among some of the anti-gov nutcase crowd. Better to let him rot in prison than to make him a martyr by executing him, giving the extremists a date to mark with more violence, like McVeigh did on the anniversary of the Branch Dividian fire.

i think it would depend on if they are the same size and brand as the ones used in the bomb...

Yes, I was joking.

When Jewell was being touted as the likely bomber, some of the evidence they cited was that he had nails in his basement that were of the same type used in the bomb.

They were the same type of nail that just about anybody with a basement has in their basement. Metal ones, with a point on one end, and a flat part to hit with the hammer on the other end.

Jewel had to be guilty per FBI thinking - he sported a mullet, lived with his mother and had a few (legal) porn tapes in his room.

PS: Regarding porn tapes - for some reason the FBI wanted us all to know this incriminating fact - that they found porn tapes.

I originally had some weird speculation about Hatfill, but its looking less likely as time goes by.

Given his strange history of shady operations, I thought he might have been an intelligence agent who volunteered to be a willing diversion for the FBI. Playing the part of the wronged Richard Jewell type guy, in an effort to get the real culprits to reveal more about themselves.

I thought they were pretending he was a serious suspect and he was pretending to be pissed off about it. I now think it is more likely that I was pretending to have a clever grasp on their game that I clearly do not possess.

I now admit I don't know what the hell to think about him. He has a very interesting background, to say the least.

"four life sentences verses death" I can never understand they they have to "make a deal". Now he's kept at our expense foe life. Why bother with the death penalty, they never enforce it (except for Texas... they don't mess around)

The nuts will suggest that Rudolph pled guilty to cover for the real killers: The FBI/DEA/CIA/NSA/Bushtwins

That was just a message to any wiseasses in the future who decide to publicly defend themselves in the middle of an ongoing investigation.

You sit there and shut up boy, if you don’t want everybody knowing about your “special relationship” with Jenna Jameson.

I have all my porn tapes marked "Rutgers Football". Who's going to watch it to find out?

I would have said Connecticut but they are actually good. Look on the bright side. The whole conference will stink next year with WVU in the hole.
