BATON ROUGE, La. -- C-Murder is no more.
The rapper, whose real name is Corey Miller, will now go by C Miller, his publicist said.
Miller, brother of Master P, is being held in the Jefferson Parish jail on a second-degree murder conviction.
''People hear the name C-Murder and they don't realize that the name simply means that I have seen many murders in my native Calliope projects neighborhood,'' he said in a statement.

C-Sickness and C-Section are expected to follow suit.
Riiiight!
Does he have a brother named C-U in jail?
I didn't realize you existed, C!?! I don't C any reason to remember it either.
His friends call him "Courtland" for short.
Anyone who calls what these gangster-rappers do as "MUSIC" should be treated to a free frontal lobotomy. The amazing thing is that there are people who buy this crap, actually paying money for it....aarrghh!
(Kerry voters, I would venture...)
''People hear the name C-Murder and they don't realize that the name simply means that I have seen many murders in my native Calliope projects neighborhood,'' he said in a statement.
Miller was convicted of second-degree murder Sept. 30, 2003, in the death of Steve Thomas, 16, who was shot to death inside a nightclub in the New Orleans suburb of Harvey. He faces a mandatory life sentence without parole.
''From the beginning, I have been a target because of who I am, my stage name and for my success as an entertainer and the success of my siblings,'' Miller said.
''I am not a murderer,'' he said.
Oh yeah.....the "Man" is just out to get him.
/sarcasm
The music he does is C-Rap.
It won't be long before people start calling him C-Killer.
I have never heard anything this guy puts out, but I have heard some Master P, and I have no idea what his appeal is. Neither the music nor P's verbal skills are special, and his only Top 40 single ("Make 'Em Say Uhhhh!") was enlivened by the relatively talented rapper Mystikal, whose raspy rapid-fire vocal style invokes James Brown during the '70s.
Mystikal has problems of his own. After hitting the top of the charts with the single "Shake it Fast" (which was the cleaned up version of the uncensored original, "Shake Ya A--"), he got himself thrown in the clink on a sexual assault charge. Seems he and his buddies ganged up on a hairdresser (female), and a jury didn't buy the idea that it was consensual.
Doesn't Master P produce his son Romeo's show for the Disney Channel?
(Kerry voters, I would venture...)
A lot of them are white teenage boys, unfortunately, looking for an identity. When one of these idiots goes by blasting rap on his car stereo, I always crack up laughing. I want to yell, "Dude, what's the matter with you? If you want to rebel, at least stay within your culture - crank up Metallica!" ;)
LOL. Your parents most likely said the same thing about the music you listened to coming up. I know my dad did (he of it don't mean a thing if it don't got that swing - but what should one expect from a guy born in 1927)
C'mon. Rebellions are soooo much more fun for the kids when they go cross-culture. Kinda like white kids in the 50's digging Elvis (who definitely crossed cultures - at least at first).
More like C-guilty, and C-ya in prison?
Indeed he does. After his son became old enough to understand what his dad did for a living, Percy Miller -- better known as Master P -- decided he had to clean up his act.
Percy Miller is practically a Horatio Alger story, actually. The official story is that he turned a $10,000 inheritance into a multimedia empire worth at least $300,000,000. There are rumors that the seed money for his first recordings came from money he made dealing dope, as did rappers like the Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, and Nelly, but no one has produced an arrest record confirming that.

But at least we could call it music, as opposed to NOISE MIXED WITH FILTH.
