I don’t think it’s about “elitist unification of the continent”, or anything other high minded intellectual paradigm.

I think it’s about the money, plain and simple. I think our President truly believes that our economic salvation lies in the availability of a class of workers who have to take whatever is offered to them and who can’t stand up for their rights when they are abused.

I believe that he is willing to accept the risk that thousands of us could die because of terrorist infiltration of our country in order to maintain this labor pool.

I believe he is indifferent to the fact that educating, medicating and incarcerating millions of illegal immigrants is costing the taxpayers of this country billions.

I believe President Bush and his colleague, Sr. Fox are both indifferent to the long term damage the separation and disruption of families is having on Mexico and the fact that by using the US for their social problems the government of Mexico becomes weaker and less able to effect positive change in a country that sorely needs it.

I believe President Bush is indifferent to the long-term consequences of hosting a class of people who do not want to assimilate into our culture, and whom we will not permit to assimilate into our culture. Currently there are over 20,000 armed members of the MS-13 “gang” in the United States. If there is ever a real backlash against illegal immigration these people will act “Para La Raza”. We won’t be talking about “unification”. It will be very bloody and a lot of innocent people will be hurt.

Seen in a modern context the Roman Empire fell to what we today would probably call “illegal immigration”. Starting with the abandonment of a string of forts call the Limes, along the Rhine and Danube rivers there was an influx of Germanic people into Roman Gaul. At first the wealthy of the region welcomed them as cheap labor. They never assimilated into Roman culture. When the real throngs started poring across the frontiers a century later the “Roman” legions were composed mostly of German mercenaries who had little interest, beyond their purses, in defending the Roman Empire against their kinsmen. We could go the same way in 100 years or less.
