It's amazing, isn't it.

Of course, no "CUBA", nor "COREA DEL NORTE", and "CHINA" is out because "TAIWAN" is in...but I was surprised JAPAN is not attending, unless my eyes have failed me (considering I did not format it)!

For "Japan," see "Giappone": Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs. I was curious to see the title of the rep. from the Russian Orthodox Church--I don't think Kirill is the top guy.

What's with the Russian Orthodox church? I guess the Patriarch, whoever he is, attending is too much to ask. At least Patriarch Bartolomeo of Constantinople is coming.

incorrect. Japan did not even have the decency to send a current officeholder. The current minister of foreign affairs is machimura. kawaguchi is a former minister of foreign affairs.

It's almost easier to understand in it's original Italian, although I did cheat for them. I changed "Carl de England" to Prince Charles.

I'm a little surprised to see that Rowan Williams, The Archbishop of Canterbury will be in attendance. I had also, assumed that HRH Queen Elizabteh II absence was in part due to her role as head of the Church of England. Would anyone know differently?

HM the Queen generally does not attend foreign funerals. (Yhough there may be exceptions.) HRH The Prince of Wales, like the Vice-President, usually gets that job. Besides, The Prime Minister will be attending (and possibly the opposition leaders too). It's still a heavyweight delegation.
