RUSSIA JOINS THE GROUP OF THE WORLD'S TOP TEN COUNTRIES MOST FREQUENTLY VISITED BY US CONGRESS DELEGATIONS

WASHINGTON, April 7 (RIA Novosti correspondent Arkady Orlov) - Russia has joined the group of the ten most popular countries of the world, to which official delegations of the US Congress like to pay visits.

The Washington-based information service for the issues of politics reports that in the past ten years (from 1994 to 2004) US Congress delegations have visited Russia 248 times and in terms of this indicator Russia holds the 6th place in the world.

The most frequently visited country was Great Britain (701 trips) followed by Italy (467) and France (409).

The ten most frequently visited countries also included Germany (395), Belgium (250), Turkey (185), Spain (182), Kuwait (173) and South Africa (166).

Delegations of the US Congress have visited a total of 219 countries in the past decade. Representative Curt Weldon, Republican, member of the House Armed Services Committee, is a record holder in terms of the number of his trips to Russia, the information service reports: in the past ten years, he has visited Russia 15 times.

Feinstein is ok, for a Democrat.

Hillary though, is definitely on the look out for new "rugs" to munch on. :)
