"I've lived through the Unix wars" LOL, like some post apocalyptic nightmare - we somehow all survived! Back in the early NT days, UNIX was the easy sell. NT just wasn't up to par back then, especially on transaction servers. Some might argue it still isn't, but its lighyears from where it came. My only complaints with Microsoft these days are the licensing arrangements.

Upgrade your application/database server farm to dual-core processors while you're on Oracle, and you'll be absolutely praising at least one aspect of Microsoft's licensing arrangements.
