Looks like they just host pics. I use Image Shack to host a few of the toons & pics that I post. Was looking for somewhere to host a few small audio clips that I wanted to post on FR.
I wasn't sure...sorry to have wasted your time. :)
The two best choices for uploading files that you can link to from posts here are PhotoBucket.com, and a site I have setup SanityIsland.us.
I invite you to use SanityIsland.us. I have created an account in your name, pookie18 there, and will send you the password via freep mail.
I recommend either of the above two for images, over Image Shack, because Image Shack puts bandwidth limits on the use of free posts, which causes those who come late to the Day's Toon's to see an Image Shack ad instead of your picture. This appears to be happening today with a picture you named popejohnpaul1vg.jpg.
See the bottom of my freeper home page for SanityIsland.us Daily Dose Image Server Instructions.
As to your original question - audio files - I can provide you with ftp access to upload whatever kind of file you like to SanityIsland.us, if that makes sense to you. Let me know if that would help.
I appreciate your offer & may use it at some point.
Apparently, they count basically the number of times an image is viewed from their site, times the size of the image, and if any image is "too popular", then anyone else asking for it sees a little ImageShack.us ad, instead.
Unless you remove the copy of the original image from your web browser cache, you won't see the little ad, because your browser already has the real image, and doesn't have to ask ImageShack.us for it again.
Looks like Prof. Churchill is becoming the "Where's Waldo?" of conservative editorial cartoons!
Damn, you are good at detail!! So was I...until I started putting so much into the Toons...now I miss things (like this) here & there :-( Good catch!
