With the anti-educational stance of modern popular black culture, are these results really surprising?

Nothing new. After the racial integration of schools during the 1960's, I noticed the "attitude" -- most of the black guys were sitting at the back of the class with their heads down on the desk. No wonder they did not achieve economic parity later in life.

I once asked a successful educated black friend of mine if it was true that if a black person strived to become educated and worked hard he was considered 'acting white' and an 'Uncle Tom'. He said yes.
