Does such a stupid question have a right to exist?
Do rocks have a right to fall in a gravitational field?
Might as well ask "what right do Jews have to be alive?"
I think Germany thought the same way about Poland in 1939.
Aw, it hurts nothing.
But France, Mexico, Cuba
Venezuela . . .
"What about Lichtenstein? They don't add much to the world..."
Or North Dakota?
(dons flame-retardant suit)
Just kidding!
Does anything have a right to exist?
"Why does the world need such a hell-hole of a country, an apartheid-racist-war-mongering-Jewish theocracy?"
When someone starts a dialog with a question like this, you know you're talking to a liberal and any further discussion is pointless.
I asked a jewish friend about this "right to exist" question some years ago. He replied by asking me what right I had to live in my house. I told him that I had paid for it and had the paperwork to prove it. He replied with, "So what if I show up on your doorstep and just start moving my stuff in?". I told him that I would try to forcibly remove him, and if that failed I'd call the police. "Exactly" was his answer, "we all keep what we have by the threat of violence, and that even applies to the weepy, non-violence crowd."
Ditto.
And I'd like to ask just how Israel is a hateful racist state?
Of course, these are liberals - common sense does not apply to them.
Instead, its mish mash with a twister at the end, that does not even fit into context.
That's really what the "friend" and Arabs are asking.
1. Hellhole - Israel is a beautiful, modern country with a thriving tourist industry (when the Pals aren't blowing up buses every other day, that is).
2. Apartheid - Israel has over one million Arab citizens who might endure some personal discrimination, but nevertheless have full legal and voting rights. How many Jews are citizens living without fear in your average Arab country, like Saudi Arabia?
3. Racist - Israel brought in thousands of black Jews from Ethiopia. I have no doubt that they too endure some personal discrimination, human nature being what it is, but racists don't tend to give citizenship to people of other races.
4. War-mongering - Who started all the wars with Israel, or forced Israel to respond to repeated attacks (1982 Lebanon war)? The Arabs.
"He replied with, "So what if I show up on your doorstep and just start moving my stuff in?". "
Like what happened in 1948?
To over a million Jews in Arabic countries who were forced to leave.
The case is being made for a second Holocaust. Actually, the case never stopped being made even after the Allies stopped the first. No one has stood up strongly enough to it, of course, in the "interest of Middle East peace." Bad times are coming.
