Actually, the picture of Patton makes me nervous. Patton's profession revolved around "breaking things and killing people" and he did a fine job of it. A County Sheriff's job is to enforce the law, not to wage war.
Truthfully, seeing a lot of younger cops today in a lot of localities makes me worried. Many these young guys look way too "pumped" -- like Barry Bonds if you know what I mean. Many even seem to favor military style hair cuts. If they want to be soldiers, good bless them, but the Marines Corps is the place for that, not local police departments. It's an entirely different job.
I don't favor soldiers being cops, and I definitely don't want cops to be acting like soldiers. They are two very different jobs that should not be confused.
