They're deporting an American citizen for trying to bring her brother into the country? Is this what they normally do to others, say originally from Mexico?

They are deporting her to the US for attempting to smuggle her brother into Mexico. Why would someone originally from Mexico have to smuggle their relatives into Mexico? At any rate I doubt they would deport them since if they were originally from Mexico they would have duel citizenship. US and Mexican. They would go to jail instead.
