I played Adventure on the 2600 with such obsession, that 20 years later you put a joystick in my hand and I can cruise right through the mazes without even thinking.

Still have the entire area stored as a cognitive map in my head. Seriously.

How true! I remember playing Adventure. What a fun game.

Adventure and Moria are still my favorites after many years of playing rpgs. Moria originally ran on a Vax system under VMS and was later ported over to the PC. I think you can still get a copy on the Internet and even a copy for your Palm Pilot.

I played the Woods and Crowther version on a Model 33 teletype in 1980. It was running on the original mainframe where the game was created. When that style of game turned into fully animated video, it ripped all the mental effort out of creating the "picture" of the maze of rooms. That was the end of my interest in the video form.

"Adventure" had the first "easter egg" in it. I also remember that the dragon kind of looked liked a duck. The first RPG type of game created from what I understand.

I know nobody else will agree with me, but I always loved the Combat game which came with the original game console. Especially Invisible Tank Pong. That ROCKED!

anyone here ever win activison patches for getting certain high scores for activision games ?I had quite a few we use to rent games at the local video store and theen submit those scores to activision by taking apic of the screen with the score showing and about a month later get as patch.I can o nly find a few now i dont know what happend toall therest of them
