Wal-Mart has done more to help the poor than the Catholic Church and the Salvation Army. It has raised the standard of living of millions by lowering prices. Wal-Mart is like a power-broker for the poor.

Wal-Marts have helped the poor in others countries too -- more than the liberal's Peace Corps. They don't make a fuss about putting a well in the center of town, they bring prosperity to whole communities. Wal-Marts the real deal.

I was tired last night when I read this and thought it was stupid. After reafding it again this morning I just came to the conclusion this is one of the most assinine comments I have ever read on this site.

Lech Walensva(sic) said that before the Pope visited Poland the solidarity movement was going nowhere and was ragtag and was actually folding. He said the Pope rallied the people and that is what got the solidarity movment going. He said without the Popes visit the crushing of the comunist would NOT have happened. It was the key factor.

Also I'm Catholic and I know what my local church does for the poor. Walmart could not hold a candle.
