Yeah out of 200 employees in each store, 25 are paid o.k.(managers etc), the rest are 25-30 hours per week at 6.00 per hour.

...gotta go find some old C-12 refrigerant to release, too!! LOL!! If you're going to do it, do it in style......wear fur.

Lessee...I'll drive down the road in my Tahoe (SUV) to the WalMart or McDonald's, wearing fur and releasing C-12 refrigerant out the window! LOL! That's my good deed for the day!

Remember when you are filling up your gas tank this summer at 3 bucks a gallon or more that the cheap commie junk you buy at Wal Mart is responsible.

The majority of the people on this earth were living in a third world status for many years.
The bottom line is that they are not going to put up with it anymore.
We are going to have to share the wealth and the resources with them or we are going to have to kill them all.

It's best that we start moving them up gradually and gracefully. We don't really have a choice, with the advent of satellite TV, Cell phones, the Internet, we can't by them off with beads and cheap trinkets anymore.

We are still going to be number one for the foreseeable future, so it is wise to orchestrate the evolution on our terms.

Any type of control whether by gov'ts or the UN means less freedom

In all seriousness, any government that can control a Wal-Mart can easily control you and me. I put more trust in Wal-Mart (which I can sue, refuse to patronize, freely criticize, etc.) than in the government. Even when that government is doing the best it can do.

Quote: It's not how much you use, it's how much you pay per set quantity. One item that shoulda been added...Espresso!!! Gawd, how much per gallon do we pay for espresso (or coffee) every week?? Well, lessee...it's $2.30 for a 16 oz. mocha here, so that's $9.20 a gallon!

So, you have no problem paying $5 a gallon for gas???

Oh I agree, We usually shop at safeway, king soopers, Albertson's for the deals of the week but for bulk items Sam's club beats them all. 8 can's of Bush's baked beans for 5 bucks! LoL

You think Wal-Mart finds folks willing to work for $6.00/hr? Not where I live. More like $12.00.

Who makes them go to work there?

How much would they be making at a mom and pop store?

Well, yeah...but if I have to, I will...and I still will be driving my Tahoe! Besides, I think that price is a little ways off in the future. But then again, if more people start buying hybrids, demand for gas will decrease, and therefore prices!!

I don't have a problem with buying from African countries or other 3rd world ones. I hope they do prosper because it makes the world more stabile.

The problem I have is china has increased their military budget by 1000% in 12 years. That comes to 13% per year. We in contrast have spent on average 4.8% and that includes the war on terror.

China's war games are all planned about fighting the US in various scenarios (Taiwan, Oil embargo or shortage, Natutal resource shortages etc.)

If they are are so called friend why is this happening??

I have not said anywhere that gov't should control any business. I'm against that. I'm saying that the American people have lost some common sense in regards to china because of the love of the dollar more.

Moms and pops competing with Wal-Mart on the basis of price is a fool's errand. Moms and pops can compete on the basis of service and knowledgable employees, however.

I see it being done every day.

Wal-Mart regularly hires the small business people they put out of business, i.e. the guy who owned the little camera shop downtown will go to work at wal-mart's camera counter.

I'm not proclaiming an anti-wal-mart stance. They are like a force of nature in small town America. It's like this -- small Town U.S.A had an inefficient business model. The stuff was marketed inefficiently and sold pretty inefficiently. Wal-Mart comes in with very sophisticated techniques and kicks their butts. End of story.

I sell group health insurance to many small mom & pop stores. Most pay their employees very well, have group health insurance, pension plans etc.
Most mom 7 pop stores also have very little turnover so they mus be doing something right.

Maybe because we work for the almighty dollar.

Where do you think Chevrolet gets the parts to put in their heartbeat of America vehicles?

The idea that we can only buy products made in the USA, though noble, are delusional.
