Also I'm Catholic and I know what my local church does for the poor. Walmart could not hold a candle.

Charities help a very few poor a great deal. WalMart helps a great lot of poor a little bit. Prices for generic stuff carried by WalMart are the same or less today than 20 years ago. That's thanks to WalMart, either by selling things cheap, or forcing their competition to do so.

I tried to find an office chair 5 years ago, and most were several hundred bucks, many almost a thousand. Last week, I bought a great leather office chair for only a bit over one hundred bucks. Cheap stuff is great.

Here is what I don't get. The ceo's say they have to cut staff to cut cost so they will lay off 1000 workers then give the same ceo a 15 or 20 million dollar raise or bonus.

The United Technologies Ceo gets 98 million dollars per year + perks. I'm sorry no one is worth that much.

Here is what you don't get: The office supply company that used to make these chairs in N. Carolina is now closed. They used to pay their workers a decent wage. Now those workers are working at Wal Mart or some other box store for less money and no benefits. Your taxes go up to pay their unemployment insurance and their food stamps and Medicaid. Also less tax money is going to the gov. on a 6.00 pr hour job than a $12.00 per hour job so the deficit gets worse or the higher wager earners have to pay higher taxes.
Their kids will also be in the same boat and the dependency on the gov widens.
Those workers at the factory in NC also had more disposable income at $12 per hour and they bought non-discretionary goods which helped the economy. They may have even bought non-discretionary goods from where you work or own. Now at 6.00 per hour they only afford to buy the essentials they need at Wal mart.

Chaing in China says "Americans sooo stuupid"

Remember when you are filling up your gas tank this summer at 3 bucks a gallon or more that the cheap commie junk you buy at Wal Mart is responsible.

WalMart bought $15 billion of cheap commie junk last year. If you think that $15 billion is enough to cause this spike in oil prices then you know less about economics than you think.

W-M is even better for China! Just think of all those wonderful new atomic toys the Chicoms now have aimed at us, thanks to W-M et al whose unending orders for Chicom junk finance their military build-up. The massive, $55 billion trade imbalance in their favor is also worrisome. We are all asleep, but they are wide awake, while we refuse to protect our own borders.

And never forget that it was the traitor Clinton who made possible the Chicom's technological improvements. Will he ever be sent to jail for this? Are we kidding ourselves to hope so? Sandy Berger was just let off the jail hook for stealing and destroying US secrets he now admits he stole. He got a $10K fine and a mere slap on the wrist. Incredible!

It's not just Walmart and their 15 billion. Thousands of other American companies have moved over there and are shipping the finished goods as exports back to the US. Check out your local Best Buy or Circuit City, or auto parts store, machine shop supplier, furniture stores etc.
That is what is causing the oil price spike.

Oh, and how do you explain the large number of illegals with fraudulent documents now working at W-M? There are several here at two Wal-Marts and W-M does nothing about it. Everyone knows that it is very easy to present false documents to get any job, but the gummint, Fed or State, knows this but does not react. False documents are the biggest laugher in the whole illegal immigration mess, but even suggesting a national ID card gets immediate disdain, even by Freepers. It's either that or build a very long wall or continue to watch our country turn Mexican even faster.

You have some real problems with that spelling thing, huh, jpsb!?

Why do you think he's so bitter. Hard to climb that corporate ladder with weak math and English skills.

Read Inhoffe's speech. Most of what he says has come to pass regarding China.

The problem I have is china has increased their military budget by 1000% in 12 years. That comes to 13% per year.

Actually, a 1000% increase over 12 years is a 22% annual increase.

That can't be the same Clinton that's the (strange) new bed partner of Bush Sr. is it?

BTW: China has more engineers than our entire population.

China has more than 290 million engineers? Where'd you make that up read that?

Just part of the "plan".
