Excellent decision by Bush. I hope he sticks with it.

Maybe Carter could be part of the Iranian delegation.

The Vatican only gave the USA five VIP seats at the funeral? The US Embassy doesn't have extra bedrooms for more than 5?

It is limited to five for the following reasons:

Jimmy Carter disssed a sitting President. A no-no

Jimmy Carter is a big loose cannon who can't keep his mouth shut. No-one knows what he would say. He doesn't even know.

Jimmy Carter seems to be obsessed with certifying the elections of tyrants. This is a no-no

Jimmy Carter would be number six and we can't have that.
He is truly embarassing and is not suitable for the sophisticated occasion that presents itself.

Didn't Carter have the opportunity to attend Pope John XXIII's and Pope John Paul I's funerals and chose to send representatives instead of going himself?

what really worries me is, the AQ will most likely never get such a target rich area again, and you know they know that

I thought of that also. If AQ wanted to ignite an all-out war between the Islamic world, and the rest of the world, this would be the perfect opportunity.

Interesting. I wonder why the delegation is limited to five.

I remember seeing something on TV about the US wanting to keep its delegation small due to the number of countries sending delegations and the number of people.

Why they chose the number 5 instead of 4 or 6, I can't say, but I know what I hear about them limiting it as much as possible out of consideration of the number of people going overall.

Catch a slow boat from Cuba.

Yeah I'm sure that Cuba would be willing to let him take up one of their delegate seats at the funeral.

Hey there - how are you doing.

I agree about the vitrolic rants against POTUS. Since Bush is not running for re-election - I think he just refused to play their little power games.

Jimmy had it coming! The President gave him every opportunity to act like a human being and Jimmy chose to act like a jerk.

This made my day. Maybe Peanuts should have thought of the possibility of alienating President Bush before going on one of his hate-filled screeds.

The more Peanuts talks, the more I am astonished that this country survived four years of his presidency.

No...there were two seats and Hillary fills them both.

I don't think we have to worry about Hitlery, because the delegation exists of only five people, which are the president and the first lady, President Bush 41, Clinton and Secretary of State Dr Condoleezza Rice

so the 5 are President and Mrs. G.W. Bush, former president Bush and former president Clinton, and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice?

Does that mean HRC isn't going ?

Hope Clinton will be able to find that bible prop that he had under his arm nearly every Sunday during his presidency. Maybe it's under the bed.

By the way, I thought he was too busy "monitoring" Mugabe's "re-election". What a disgrace this guy is.
