He seems to be indicating that GOP action is coming very soon to stop it.
This must be the case, because I saw a "commercial" earlier today (put out by People For The American Way) asking us to call our reps to stand for the pro-filibuster status quo.

And there is talk (mostly scared talk coming from the left),Sen Cornyn is an outside canidate to run for POTUS in 2008.
A lot of lefty's are showing a great deal of fear for him, and its starting to put him on some radar screens. He not only gets under democrats skins, they are genuinly frightened that if he runs, he can and will win.

The NY Times ran a long article yesterday, too, praising Senator Sheets Byrd for his defense of the filibuster. There was a great quote from Rick Santorum pointing out how hypocritical Byrd is on this issue.
