No one is forcing this nun to remain Catholic. Convert then if you don't like it.
The article says "former" nun. I wonder if she was asked to leave?
To what? an Atheist? The Catholic church is far from the most conservative church...in Canada at least, the only ones I can think of as more liberal are the Anglican Church (which is almost Catholic now), the United Church (dying) and the Metropolitan Community Church (which is out of the mainstream completely and held by gay activists)...
So...Encouraging women to be feminine is a bad thing, now?
NO DAMN KIDDING. I hear the Episcopals are just itching to get more man-hating lesbians into the fold to go with old Whistle-britches the Bishop of Sodom.
Imagine if she was trashing Islam instead!
Well they couldn't broadcast the interview, they had on curling instead of live coverage of the Pope. It was strange channel surfing on Saturday.
I'm not quite sure what you said ... but ... I kinda like it.
Exactly, Lauralee. For years, I have not been able to understand people who demand that the Church change to conform to their beliefs. And it's that way in so many other institutions as well.
The rules are what they are.
If you don't like the rules and don't want to follow them, why don't you join somewhere else? Why not start your own church?
It's right up there with the First Amendment to me--if you don't like what's being said--DON'T LISTEN!
Well most Catholics do not agree with Pope about banning contraception, however, that does not say that the Pope was a wonderful human being and a very CONSISTANT MORAL LEADER. The right wingers did not trash him for opposing the Iraq war. We can all agree that he was giant and fair, and straight, and a fantastic example of how Christians should lead their lives. The Reverend Billy Graham has comments on the Pope that is all compliment, so is President Bush. Even Muslim people have positive comment on this one human that all the earth seem to like and respect. The BBC, or other liberal media are so wrong to say any thing negative about this giant of human.
Her words were demeaning to traditional Catholics and so full of hate. I felt so yucky hearing them. I FEEL like she is inciting people to hate me for my religion. Where is the Canadian thought police and why aren't they arresting her? I thought they had anti-hate speech laws...
[/sarcasm off]
CBC wouldn't broadcast it.
Oh, the pope did not slam the Iraq War. The Liberal Media keeps saying that. He only said that War should be a last resort. And his hands are tied advocating any war, he's a Christian leader. You have to remember the pope was in Nazi occupied Germany. He was a soldier. He understood that is sometimes necessary.
What these bastions of smug condescension say about a giant like John Paul II can never reflect negatively on him. It matters not the least what they say. It only reflects negatively on the small minded, hateful fanatics who say it.
She is a SeeBS kinda 'gal' ?
Or St. John Paul!
Paul McCartney wants him to be called "Paul John"
"You have to remember the pope was in Nazi occupied Germany. He was a soldier. He understood that is sometimes necessary."
And, where would the world be if someone didn't remind us that war is awful, that even if the WAR is moral and just contains all sorts of ACTIONS that are neither? I hate to think of a world where no one protested war, or warned against it, or spoke out asking for alternatives.
