I would miss the USPS very much. We actually pay very little for the services it provides. 37 cents can take a letter to my daughter 3,000 miles away on the West Coast.

And delivery to your own door of letters, periodicals, books and DVDs? Who else would provide this service at such a low cost?

(Disclaimer: I have NO relatives who work for USPS.)

I agree. 37 cents, even 40 cents is cheaper to send a piece of mail anywhere in the States, especially considering today's fuel prices.

My only gripe with the USPS is that for businesses if can be a inconveince when the postal service (along with the rest of the Feds) takes holidays that the most of us in the private sector and even some public sector people normally do not. Three of those days would inclide MLK Day, Columbus Day, and President's day. FedEX, UPS and DHL pretty much work 6 or 7 days a week now.
