You thought Hatch's tie was ugly the other day?

Check out Isakson's

He's on the floor right now.

I am listening to Kennedy bloviate about how the bill doesn't have enough MONEY being paid to the victims--

saying that agreements made before, have been changed. IOW, Kennedy is being Kennedy---not happy with how little money is being spent and just generally griping about the bill---

I have become convinced that the object of the dems is too drag this out long enough to keep the nomination of Pryor from getting heard today---which makes it weeks before it will come up again....

Senator Tom Coburn is on messing everyone up with some facts and some truth. Kennedy will not like this.

I know and when Diane Feinstein questioned how HE could come up with these figures that throw a monkeywrench in Kennedys numbers, Coburn answered because he is a DOCTOR and has seen lung cancer and mesothelioma (sp)---dead silence!!! Bwahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa---

Now, Durbin is saying that they just got bill a couple of weeks ago and how could they trust Coburns numbers that might leave out even ONE person that deserves millions of dollars from our taxes---

Coburn is saying that even a 1% over estimate in the amount of people that have lung cancer because of other reasons instead of asbestos would cost Americans tens of BILLIONS of dollars---Now Durbin is saying that Coburn ISN'T an expert, that their expert knows but Coburn (a doctor) doesn't---!!!!

These dems will not agree on one thing that a Republican says ---it is a joke!

I am going to have to leave for about a half an hour in about half an hour, at quarter to 11 in Texas, so could you take over the "notes" if the meeting is still going on---

your comments are so much better than mine anyway!!!

I should be back by 11:15 texas time---

I think Durbin is not liking the fact that there is a doctor on the Reps side---he keeps stressing their EXPERT though!!!

They must have realized that you had other business and would not be able to monitor them as they have adjourned :)

Do you know what is going on---the House just recessed until later and now the Judiciary committee said it was recessing because the Senate was recessing--

then Specter said they could come back when the Senate comes back into session---

This isn't Tuesday, is it?????????????/

Here's what you have missed so far. There has been a demand for a roll call vote on the floor before the Senate can recess so the committee is in recess until then and will resume after the vote.

This is like before the Foreign Relations Committee meeting last week then?

Why are they doing this?

Do you think it might be because they had only scheduled a two hour meeting and right off the bat, Leahy and Biden and Specter said that the asbestos part would take too long to probably consider any of Bush's nominees, therefore, the leader decided to do this in order to FORCE the judiciary committee to debate Pryor and the others?
