i think we can see by michael's involvement with another woman and fathering two children with her all we need to know of his ongoing love and concern for terri schindler.

It is possible to conclude from his actions that he grieved for his wife who passed from him 15 years ago, wanted to carry out her final wishes, and had moved on with his life.

This may or may not be true, but it is not beyond comprehension. We aren't hearing his side of the story.
