The
problem, as public health officals see it, is treatment that worked TOO well and not enough education.
Whatever.

And just nine days before that announcement, city health officials had reported the appearance in two men of a rare form of chlamydia that had previously been known in Europe, lymphogranuloma venereum, described as a "painful, bloody rectal infection."I thought this was the description of ALL gay sex.

But they are just like us - a perfectly normal and healthy lifestyle that should be taught to all children...

"painful, bloody rectal infection."Between this, yesterday's post about "bare-backing," and orgies of drug-induced men... this whole story is getting grosser and grosser.

On February 11 health officials in Ner York City reported the appearance in one man of a highly virulent strain of HIV, called 3-DCR HIV, that's resistant to three classes of antiretroviral drugs; the man's infection apparently progressed to AIDS very quickly -- within a few months (it often takes as long as a decade).
The speed at which this mutation of HIV kills could be a good thing because if everyone can be talked into keeping their pants closed for a year or so, the mutation of the virus should burn itself out.
Sort of like the Ebola virus, it kills so fast it is that it is difficult to spread.
Of course the chances of that happening are highly unlikely.

The antiretroviral drugs are not a solution. They are part of the problem: By keeping infected persons alive to infect others who wouldn't have been, otherwise. By creating a group of super-carriers, typhoid marys of the hiv world who can infect but do not die. By allowing persons to live longer with infection, promoting mutations to drug resistant strains of hiv and now a faster acting virus. By creating the false opinion that the hiv issue has been 'solved' and no more safe sex is needed. But this is what you get when activists like Act Up DEMAND a cure, when doing nothing would have been preferable.

Sorry but I have NO sympathy for these perverts. More money has been spent on AIDS research and PR than on nearly all other diseases combined in the last 2 decades. If they're still engaged in unprotected anal sex thet deserve whatever comes their way.
What more can be done for these people that hasn't already been done?

Between this, yesterday's post about "bare-backing," and orgies of drug-induced men... this whole story is getting grosser and grosser. No, it has always been gross, but now it is becoming well known. Sadly, I think the push for complete social acceptance and even approval has caused information like this to become merely more desensitization of the masses. Our society has degenerated to that pathetic level.

Of course, we could always send them to the best medical facilities in the western hemisphere, Cuba.
I am sure they would love to use those advanced facilities.

(sarcasm) Does that include those infected by blood tranfusion or by rape (and I am not just talking about women)...

Promiscuous gay guys had better not smoke at home, or they could lose their jobs because their smoking tends to raise their employer's health care costs.
