Sure, they are anti-regime. They dig into dark side of China, the regime does not want to publicize. As long as those stories are credible, it serves as one of the alternate outlet of news. I know they are religious organization and they may hold faith I do not agree with. However, as long as they conduct themselves following the norms of civilized society, Falun Gong is just a religious group. You cannot automatically discredit the sect just because they believe the leader is a living Buddha. Do they oppress people, and beat up followers who try to quit? Do they erect a massive golden statue of Mr. Li or exact exorbitant dues from their followers? If they do that, then I would worry. However, otherwise, they are just a persecuted sect or a dissident group.
