John Paul II was born on May 8 (sic), 1920 during an eclipse of the sun. Like the sun, he came out of the East (Poland). Like the sun, he visited countries all around the globe.

Has the Partial Solar Eclipse of April 8, 2005 been mentioned in this thread? It won't be visible from Europe; nonetheless, that's the day of JPII's funeral.
