The bigoted feminists she deals with are also the kind of people who would not find a problem with the euthanization of Terri Shaivo. Feminism is no longer about women - its about politics and the liberal agenda.

Most postmodernists flatter themselves that they are the "other," meaning that they do not fit into the stifling orthodoxy of conventional society. I do not think many of them would enjoy being reminded that they are now the Establishment, more boring, narrow-minded, and tendentious than any of their predecessors ever were.

Good post. I love this, "The Postmodernists featured in this piece are real."

“Gee, I guess I’ve never thought about it. You first; what’s it like to teach in jeans and Birkenstocks?”

Not ping list stuff, but I thought you'd find it interestin'.

I have seen this attitude so many times, mostly from the students here at UCF.

The military is the last bastion of honor, character and patriotism in America.

Can't wait for my brother, a Citadel grad, and my son, slated to attend there next fall, to read this.
I almost lost it when I read this part...who does Multiculturalist think pays his salary?
“I think it would be far too stressful for me to teach children of Republicans,” the Multiculturalist commented over cappuccino in Padua, after expounding on profiling as a bigoted, narrow-minded policy of Eurocentrists.

I was tempted to ask if children of Republicans, indeed, young Republicans themselves or — God forbid — conservative professors were forced to stay in a closet of their own at her college, whose mission statement, after all, stipulates diversity in regards to race, gender and religion, but makes no mention of political affiliation. Would she have them wear a bright red R lest they enroll in her classes or sit next to her in the faculty lounge?

The article was really great. After seeing other institutions of 'higher learning', I am really, REALLY, appreciative of the education I got the 'I'.
One of my relatives is slated to attend next year also! I'm stoked that he will be attending.

Thanks for the post. It was a good article. The descriptions of the various liberal professors reminded me very much of some of my own professors in college. I was a ROTC cadet at the time, and the cadets were viewed with utter contempt by the leftist academia. We were as strange to those professors as somebody from a completely different culture. Come to think of it, we were from a completely different culture. :-)

My brother is really glad my son is going to be following his path, too.
What years were you at VMI? I know some people who went there too.

Agree it's not ping-list, but the irony makes it worth the read: antifeminist feminist, in uniform, faults antimilitary academia which previously faulted antifeminist military academies. The military WAS the last bastion of honor, character and patriotism, and its academies WERE its parapets. Before feminists' demands were met.

Thank you for posting this. Do you have an e-mail address for the author, so we can send complimentary remarks to her for her courage under (academic) fire?

I'm a '96 grad right before the Supremes forced us to admit women. I find it ironic now that there are public schools that are same sex.

"I find it ironic now that there are public schools that are same sex."

Same here. I am a firm believer in same sex education.

Of the people I knew who went to VMI one was before you, older brother of a friend of my brother and one after you, son of a friend of mine. He just graduated a couple years ago.
My son kept saying he was going to break with family and go to VMI, I can't say how many times we visited there. When it came time to apply though he only applied to the Citadel. :)

VMI is supposed to be a grand old school. But does anybody know any famous names that are its alumni? Who besides Stonewall Jackson and George Marshall?

I understand a hero of the Marine Corp, Chesty Puller, attended there but did not graduate.

Thank you. I just sent her a well-deserved compliment, and asked permission to quote from her article in my column.

Bravo Ms. Dellinger! This honorable Lady has met the enemy at close quarters and survived. Yes, it is certainly rousing to meet and engage liberal academic boors, at seminars and cocktail parties. What a bunch of self-indulgent tripe.
