All I'm saying is armed groups of people usually equate to people getting shot. I'd be the same if the just had knives. People would get stabbed.

BFD!

Normally, large groups of felons commiting felonies in public view lead to mass arrests.

With respect to both activities, you've got to expect losses.

This is to all the "party" bashers, we are the party not a few men in Washington.

The Cheer I heard yesterday when Congressman Charlie Norwood said " The President is wrong on this one ... and we need to fix it" ratteld the building.

The Rebublican Party is the People. We make policy from the ground up.

Make sure you are on the roles, just voting for a Republican is not enough, We need people on the roles so our voice can be heard LOUDER. Policy starts at the local precinct meeting.
Have you been to one?

Quit using that damn "Oxford" dictionary. Did you know Daniel Webster was born in Franklin/Salibury, New Hampshire ("Live Free or Die")

Based on your posts on "FreeRepublic" can we assume you're a "liberal?"

Thanks for posting the pics, Lainie. As one can see, it's not the Gucci ACLU lawyers manning the lines of protestors. It's the usual slovenly geeks many of us have seen over the years at street freeps.

Reminds me of the younger Hillary in her campus protest days. While her fellow anti-war, anti-everything were out wrecking the campuses, the Hildebeest remained inside, directing and coordinating the activities.

The cerebral leftists do not expose themselves to danger or to the rabble. They get dupes and useful idiots to do the work while they plot and plan.

One single day in the desert trailing the Minutemen would do in these walking mentally wounded.

"Similar groups to the Minutemen do have a history of violence."

Can you name one organization whose goal was to monitor the borders and REPORT sightings of illegal aliens crossing the border?

Once-Ler,

I read most of your profile. You have put a good deal of thought into the immigration issue. You are also exactly the kind of person I who’s opinion I hope to sway.

First, I ask that you not let your opinion be skewed based on what may have happened to your grandfather years ago. The situation today is radically different. As I took the time to read your profile, please take the time to read this article (link below). The second link is to FR comments on the article.

Whenever people foreign or domestic threaten American citizens, our government should protect those citizens. We also have a duty to protect our fellow citizens as well. Just because you and I do not live on the border, our feelings for the plight of those Americans that do should not be diminished.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1359993/posts

After taking in that article I would like you to consider these thoughts from a past post of mine about why I am from getting a handle on our immigration problems:

1. National Sovereignty - a nation is not or will not continue to be a nation if it cannot reasonable control its borders.

2. Security - if our government does not control who comes in and out of our country are we secure? Example - can any politician offer any reasonable assurance that what happened at the school in Chechnya with the terrorists will not happen here?

3. Overcrowding. This isn't 1900 anymore. I live in the DC area where almost a third of the population is foreign born. In spite of numerous new road systems (even a private toll road) the commutes continue to get longer and longer. The same problem is occurring all over America.

Recently I read in the USA today where the wait in traffic is up almost 200% nationwide. It is clear that the numbers added are by legal and illegal immigration. Domestic population growth is near zero. Standards of living may be rising, but quality of life is declining.

4.Crime. Almost one third of our federal prisoners are foreigners. Our government is simply not protecting its citizens. The crime rate by foreigners relative to their numbers is inexcusable. There should be a better screening process as to who is allow to enter and stay, but the government doesn't even know who or how many are entering.

5. Expense. I believe the Economist magazine had an article that stated the value for someone to just set foot in the US was almost $400,000. By just arriving here and tapping into the infrastructure (roads, sewage, sanitation, schools, parks, hospitals) and welfare system, someone who was in penury in their former country has attained wealth. Take the school system for one.

There is almost no native population growth, therefore most of the new schools built are to support the children of new arrivals. Think of the expense of acquiring the land, building the school, furnishing the school, supplying student materials, staffing the school, and providing buses for transportation. These are huge costs thrust on the taxpayers.

6. There are other points, but I will end with loyalty. I am skeptical of the loyalty of many of the new arrivals. Why? Look at what happens to our national soccer team when they play a team from Central America - the Central American team is not just cheered by the crowd (that would be reasonable), our team is booed and has trash thrown at them. If someone does not wonder how loyal many of these people really are, they are probably lacking an inquisitive mind.

My daughter told me about a girl with an Indian (India) background who is American and attends her school. First of all, the girl wouldn't say the Pledge of Allegiance. Second, she mentioned that her aunt was in town. When asked, "Why?" She replied that ALL of her relatives come to the US when they are expecting a child.

Admittedly there may be many citizens' who’s appreciation for our country might be lacking. But how could those allowed to become citizens – those who asked for the privilege - behave in this manner? US citizenship used to be a cherished possession for the freedom it represents.

I believe the US is looked at by too many people of the world today as a place that can be taken advantage of. They are probably right, but I intend to do my part to see that change. Our government should be concerned with the people that are its citizens first. When do you think the flood should be stopped 400 million, 500 million, a billion? 300 million is probably enough.

The president's obvious full frontal attack on those Americans insisting he get a grip on the migrant invasion will only serve to further split the GOP.

It is obvious the president is pro-Mexico, pro-amnesty, and at best neutral on maintaining any resemblence of border control.

And to think just three months ago the GOP was more unified than it has been perhaps in it's history.

Quite an accomplishment.

" document any illegal activity," said Ray Ybarra of the Arizona ACLU."
Does that mean they'll be notifying the Border Patrol if they notice persons illegally crossing the border?

Well, one would think that NOT notifying the authorities
would BE illegal activity, as they would then be complicit
in the illegal crossing.

"We will stay about 50 to 100 yards behind them to deter the use of violence and document any illegal activity," said Ray Ybarra of the Arizona ACLU.

Ya know, the MM should get some stickers printed up that say

"Undocumented Border Control Agent.
Keep Back 300 ft."

and stick them on their backs.

#128 - BTTT

It is astounding to me that some of the posters here don't realize that the Minutemen in Arizona exemplify American history, i.e., patriotism.

What an outrage that our own President doesn't even seem to realize this as he continues to take sides with third world Mexico.

I'm convinced that the apologists are somehow benefiting from illegal immigration, or that they value party over principle.

All one needs to do to be convinced that President Bush is WRONG on this one is to visit one of the border states and take a good look at the crumbling infrastructure and the astonishing emergence of Mexican colonias.

We are importing poverty, crime, disease, dependence and ignorance with the help of our own President. America is angry!

When do you think the flood should be stopped 400 million, 500 million, a billion? 300 million is probably enough.

One question I'd like to see our immigration-leftist President directly is answer is:

"How many people do you want to live in the United States? Please provide a numeric answer."

Of course we're still likely to hear something like:

"...as many as there is who are fleeing evil-doers or povertyness and who just want to provide better bread on the table that Americans aren't willing to butter themselves"
