Thanks for the great pictures. Needed something to brighten up the day!

You're welcome, and I know what you mean. It's a gorgeous, warm, sunny Spring day here in Los Angeles. I don't think this is a day to let darkness and death win a victory over our spirits.

I love the tie!

I do, too. He favors solid-color ties, but I like a bit of pattern in a tie.

Are the flowers really blooming there already?!

Yes, I think so. The groundskeepers are always putting in annuals on a schedule that has them blooming about now. However, these pic are from a WH photo essay and were probably taken over the course of the past four years.

I prefer a design in a tie as well a lot of the modern ties from a distance look as if they are solid but when you get close to them they do have a pattern I have noticed both the President and Vice President wear a lot of them. Which just goes to show they are keeping pace with fashion LOL

I think we can safely bet that those boys will never forget that moment!

You bet! What a cool thing, huh?! To be presented with your very first kalaiedoscope by the First Lady of the United States, and then to have her actually teach you how to use it. Ultra cool!

I say a closet is too big!

LOL! I agree with you. Personally, I enjoy seeing them outside on the WH lawn doing their stand-ups in all kinds of weather. Remember how they groused about Crawford, TX, the first year the President vacationed there?

I used to love kalaiedoscopes when I was young unfortunately in the western world the young children find these things rather tame and prefer computer and other electronic games.

I was only watching the news last night when they showed footage from the HMAS Kanimbla and all the hard work they were doing in helping the people on Nias.

Also the Kanimbla was on her way home after the relief effort in Aceh and was sent back to Indonesia to help out. Geez...

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers for my fellow countrymen and their families.

I saw the President and Mrs. Bush on TV and immediately noticed the grief on Mrs. Bush's face. Very touching.

Amen Wolfstar - and thank you for posting that exchange with the press about our First Lady. I couldn't help but ask - maybe the press didn't notice because the press wasn't paying attention - as usual. Now that they're noticing - they try to make something sinister out of it.

Thank you also for your admonition about our resurrection in Jesus. I believe that too for Terri - while my heart weeps for her - I know she is now walking and talking and has found peace and contentment as last in the arms of the Lord. It is the only thought that comforts me.

Spring warms the heart and the soul doesn't it? You have made me smile - thank you!

And that makes me happy, especially knowing that your nation is mourning the loss of nine brave members of your military. Thanks for the link to the story.
