You said it. Chris Matthews was making comments about the Pope, how he was "too conservative" by (paraphrase) "not continuing with the reforms of Vatican II" such as giving women more of a role in the Church, etc.
I believe it was the NY Times who mentioned that the Pope was "conservative" in not allowing women to be ordained into the Priesthood. M. Kondracke said the same last night on Special Report with Brit Hume.
Expect to see a lot of that clamor in the next few days and months by the same media, who will pride themselves in becoming experts on papal succession and also on knowing the nuances of the Roman Catholic Church. The same media which has castigated the Church will now become "experts" on the Church.
Was it Chris Matthews who said that or Morton Kondrake?
The ordination of women was the downfall of the Episcopal Church. I will be devastated if the Roman Catholic Church goes that way. As a Bishop once xplained it to me, God is the Father, Jesus the Son. If God is now the Mother, then Father and Son become unimportant as the head of the family. That progression of thought is obvious im apostate churches of today, and the resultant influence of this thinking is evident in the state of American families today. The Catholic Church MUST stay away from this type of feminism.
One commentator gave a great answer to Shep Smith--who was going on about how the Pope did not favor "feminism". The commentator said the Pope LOVED strong women, did much to encourage several Catholic feminist organizations, but did not go along with some of the extreme views of the feminist (Feminazi) movement. It was a great "back at ya" to Shep--whose attitude was REALLY irritating!
Let the liberal press clamor all they want, because the papal electors will be in conclave and will be out of reach of them
