Saddened not by the loss of a person with a title but sad because JPII, Karol Wojtyla, was a good man.

As a Catholic I am worried about leadership lapses but I can honestly say Karol Wojtyla was one of the better Popes in it's history.

I cannot forget his visit to Cuba.

For the first time the people were allowed to celebrate open air masses with the Pope.

For the first time Christmas was a national holiday.

It was something amazing to see that this Pope was able to bring that blessing to those poor benighted people.

Not sure why but that visit touched me so much.
